My afternoon yesterday consisted of some meal preparation, workout plans for the week, and a 2 mile sunset walk with the pup. I prepared some chicken and a big tupperware of brown rice for the week, which should make some meals easier since it’s already ready. I also made protein blueberry muffins (I made them into cookies because I didn’t have muffin cups) to have for snacks or breakfasts. It’s a recipe from the TIU Nutrition Plan.
I used to write down my goals, workouts, and food every single day back when I was learning to make it a priority, but it’s still fun to do now. I’m much more likely to stick with a plan if it’s written down (ESPECIALLY in my planner, that thing is serious) so I made my workout schedule based on the TIU Love Your Body workout schedule for the week and my hot yoga classes that I want to take.

I also aim to walk Mav whenever I have time if the weather permits! I’m not sure if it will today…snow right now supposed to turn to rain later. Brrr.
Last night it was a nice evening to walk, although still very chilly.

Protein blueberry muffin cookies:

This morning I was up to complete the first thing on my workout to-do list, which was the HIIT The Beach DVD and Long&Lean DVD. I threw in some extra ab work as well.
Also had a blueberry protein pancake for breakfast on the go.

Tonight I’ll be going to hot yoga
I’d also like to wish a very special Happy Birthday to my beautiful mommy!

Love you!
Do you like to write down your goals, meals, workouts?

I have the same planner!!
Very inspirational! I prefer to write my “to do list” and “goals” on paper vs. on the phone, Excel, etc! Thank you! Keep up the great work!
I have been keeping track of my meals and workouts lately! I love doing it because it makes me think about the choices of food I am going to eat and makes me make better choices. I would rather see veggies written down instead of a brownie for a snack!
Bess,
What time do you wake up in the mornings to get a at-home workout in?
Also, can you re-post the link to your blueberry protein pancakes? They look so yummy
Thanks.
Hey! It just depends on the workout and when I need to be at work. I may wake up anytime between 5:45am and 6:45am. This morning’s was just a quick 30 minute at home, so I woke up around 6:20. Didn’t even put my shoes on
Here’s the base recipe for protein pancakes and you can add whatever else you’d like:
2 egg whites
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 mashed banana
blueberries or chia seeds (optional)
Cook over medium-high heat until bubbly on one side and then flip, cooking the other side for the same amount of time. Enjoy!
That’s such a great idea. I usually write down my workouts AFTER I do them just to record it. But I should plan ahead. I like your style
Maverick is soo soo cute!! Just had to mention it!
That’s cool that you write down your workout plans for the week. I keep all of mine in my head but writing it down is a great idea. I need to get a planner!!
I have a planner just like that, I schedule a month in advance, and then put them into the daily area as I do them. Just curious, do you always do a morning and evening workout?
no definitely not! I’ve just been trying to incorporate the tone it up challenge workouts a long with my yoga schedule. it hasn’t been too bad! I also don’t count walking Mav as exercise so a couple days I definitely only do one, even with the TIU stuff.
Hi Bess!
I just found your blog from Jen’s blog at peanutbutterrunner. I love that you put all of your workouts for the week into your planner. I have a calendar hanging by my desk that is covered in my workouts, but I don’t usually document them until I’ve completed them. I’m going to try planning them out beforehand and see if that motivates me to do them earlier in the day, or even possibly more often! I just started my own fitness blog at wethreelocals.blogspot.com in hopes of doing just what you are, sharing my path to fitness training and love of running with other people who feel the same way. I’m looking forward to reading more of your posts! Congratualtions on all you’ve accomplished!

Aw yay, I love Jen! I’m glad you found me
I will definitely check out your blog as well!
