I hope everyone had a nice weekend! I sure did.
Friday kicked off the weekend with some drinks after work.
Friday night was super low key. I got in bed around 7:30 and fell asleep by 8:30. Slept 11.5 hours that night. I was tired. Luckily I woke up feeling refreshed and not sluggish, as is the case sometimes when you sleep a lot.
I had a little prerun breakfast of a brown rice wrap, peanut butter, and banana. Then I headed out for a distance I hadn’t quite decided upon. Wanted to just see how I felt! It was hotter than I was expecting (this cooler August weather has me spoiled already) but I did just over 8.5 miles.
Mike and I ran some errands that day and got sushi for dinner that night.
Plus ice cream for dessert. He did 12.5 miles Saturday morning so we were both pretty hungry :)
Sunday morning I made us chocolate chip pancakes to start our easy day. Neither of us had workouts on the schedule and it was a bit of a dreary, cloudy day, so pancakes & coffee felt so right.
We decided to drive out to the Sands casino in PA just to spend some of the day. No big wins unfortunately but no big losses either. Sometimes its fun just to go play! I won a good amount back in July when we went to Atlantic City so I knew it probably wasn’t going to be my day!
Grabbed Starbucks for the ride.
Iced tall caramel macchiato. First time having one. Yum.
And the way home…
I put dinner in the crockpot to cook while we were out. Made the same thing as last sunday. Buffalo Marinara Shredded Chicken! Mike had his over mashed potatoes again and I just ate mine as is.
So good! Def a new favorite.
We watched Dexter (great sode!!) and went to bed.
My alarm came entirely too quickly this morning and after arguing with myself about staying in bed or getting up to workout as I had planned, I finally got up. A little later than I had planned but I still got up all the same!
Headed to the gym and did an hour on the TM with some intervals and hills. It was basically:
- 1 minute running at 6.5
- 30 seconds running at 8.5
- REPEAT for 30 minutes
Then mixed a few incline walking steps in there. 5 minutes of incline walking followed by 5 minutes of running at 6.5/7.0 ish. Kept that going til I had reached just about an hour.
I was kind of tired today so didn’t feel like pushing it too hard. Just a nice sweat to start the day.
And now to tackle Monday’s always fun to-do list. Have a great day!
