Mileage, Toning, Food, and Clothes.

I finally did it…for the first time since October 7th…I ran outside.  Sure I’ve done some HIIT workouts on the treadmill that of course included running but as for taking it to the pavement, it hadn’t happened until last night.  Now, it was nothing momentous, I walked 1 mile, ran 1 mile, walked 1 mile, ran 1 mile for a total of 4 miles.  My quads are feeling it today and so is my appetite.  Running just makes me so hungry and since I haven’t in about 3 months I guess 2 miles was enough to get it going again.  Gotta be honest, I didn’t enjoy how hungry I was last night and it makes me appreciate even more how much I’ve been loving yoga and toning workouts that have slimmed me down and not made me want to eat everything in sight.  I don’t mean to exaggerate, I wasn’t going to eat a cow or anything after 2 miles, I’m just saying I could tell a difference in my appetite between when I run and when I do other forms of exercise.  Anyways, maybe I’ll stick to shorter HIIT workouts for now!

Maverick came with me on the walk/run and he was killing me on the running parts :)  Was ahead of me and would look back like COME ON LADY!  It was clearly no problem for him but I think he was happy to be back in the warm house and snuggling with his favorite stuffed animal, Piggy.

I finished off my evening workout with two TIU workouts, Beach Barre and the Fine Toning Arm Routine.  I was going to do my Physique 57 DVD but I can’t seem to find it after Mike and I cleaned…oh well it’ll turn up sometime.  The Beach Barre workout is similar style to that though, which is why I picked it.

Dinner was lean, green, and clean!  Grilled chicken and green beans over chopped spinach and kale with some balsamic vinegar and a little bit of olive oil and sea salt.  So yummy!  I have the same thing for lunch today with the addition of some carrots and hummus.  Yes I’m already excited for lunch.

My morning workout today was the Sweet & Sexy Valentine’s Day workout video.  It’s a really good toning workout for the thighs, booty, and abs.  This afternoon after work I’ll be heading to the gym to do some Secret Admirer Cardio.

Breakfast today (and all this week) has been oatmeal made with almond milk, chia seeds, blueberries, and blackberries.  I’ve sprinkled some Perfect Fit protein powder in there too for a lil protein boost.  It’s just been so cold out that warm, cozy oatmeal has been exactly what I’ve wanted.

I’ve always felt the same way about running and appetite! I rarely choose running as my form of exercise anymore bc I know I’ll want to eat back any calories I burned, or more!

I have been taking my puppy on my runs with me lately and he kicks my butt! When I am huffing and puffing away he is what seems like slowly trotting! I think I got the same capris as you! Are they rouched at the bottom? i love them!

I’ve always wanted a puppy I can run with! But I totally agree with your feelings on the hunger, minus the part where you said you DIDN’T want to eat a cow at mile 2…

Glad to hear your out and at it again though! I really want to get my hands on the Physique 57 DVDs you talked about!

PV Body sounds great! Are you going to follow thier 30 Day Challenge fitness plan, or are you following TIU Love Your Body series? (I am doing it right now!) I did the Secret Admirer this morning and really liked it, I’ll be doing the Sweet & Sexy workout tonight!

My appetite gets stronger after I run too. I’ve found that almonds before my run helps but depending on my distance I do eat anything in sight after the run and rationalize that I’ve run a long distance to it’s cool;) Love the outfit too!
